- A document has disclosed that Satoshi Nakamoto would soon make a groundbreaking appearance to prove his identity and relationship with Bitcoin in a live demonstration.
- Meanwhile, a section of the crypto community strongly doubts the authenticity of this document as they claim this is merely a clout chasing.
According to a document circulating on social media and shared by a crypto analyst identified as Altcoin Daily, the mysterious creator of Bitcoin (BTC) and the foundational blockchain technology, Satoshi Nakamoto, is set to make his first public appearance. In the document reviewed by CNF, his appearance would be at the Frontline Club, Norfolk Place, Paddington, London, W2, exactly at 11:30 AM today, October 31, 2024.
According to the report, a live demonstration would be conducted during the press conference, and would conclusively prove his Nakamoto status. Fascinatingly, the event coincides with the anniversary of the Bitcoin whitepaper release. Here is an excerpt of the document:
After over a decade of speculation and mystery, the world would finally learn the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the elusive inventor of Bitcoin and the foundational Blockchain Technology. On this momentous occasion, Satoshi would reveal his legal identity in a live press conference, marking a historic event in the cryptocurrency landscape.
Citing the reasons for this sudden initiative, the document highlights that the decision stems from legal pressure.
The time has come for me to officially reveal my identity. I am facing significant legal challenges, and I believe the world deserves to know the truth.
The Bitcoin Community React
Meanwhile, a section of the crypto community strongly doubts the authenticity of this document. According to a user identified as Emlanis, “This is just propaganda and clout chasing.” To him, Bitcoin can only be saved if Satoshi remains anonymous forever.
Another X user called Michael Stewart “rubbished” this release, claiming Satoshi would never reveal his identity to risk his security. Meanwhile, other users, including Altcoins Daily, believe that the only way to prove his identity is to sign a transaction in one of the original Satoshi’s wallets.
For a user known as Ozery, Satoshi’s anonymity is what makes Bitcoin more powerful.
UNPOPULAR OPINION: I kinda hope we never find out who Satoshi is. The mystery has made Bitcoin more powerful—owned by no ONE but dedicated to EVERYONE. Decentralization at its best.
Over the years, several individuals have publicly claimed to be the mysterious originator of Bitcoin, with Australian scientist Craig Wright being one of the claimants. For clarification, a Non-Profit Organization representing Bitcoin developers, Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA), filed a lawsuit against Wright in 2021 to prevent him from claiming the copyright of the Bitcoin whitepaper.
During the trial, COPA called forensic experts and on-chain analysts to testify that Wright produced metadata that showed signs of modification and a trove of forgeries.
Recently, U.K. judge Justice James Mellor ruled that Craig Wright is not the Bitcoin creator and instructed him to update the homepage of his website with a legal notice to that effect.
Meanwhile, Wright has also filed a lawsuit against Bitcoin Core developers as we formerly reported.
In the midst of this, Bitcoin has made an 8% surge in the last seven days and a 0.17% surge in the last 24 hours to trade at $72k. According to our market data, Bitcoin’s 24-hour trading volume has also taken a significant nosedive to $37 billion in a 28% decline.
